Sophia’s Birth Story

Sophia’s Birth Story

Happy Saturday!

Today my baby is 3! In honor of birthday I thought I would share her birth story.

So I found out I was pregnant with Sophia 2 weeks after my husband had left for basic training for the Air Force. I had to tell him by letter because he obviously didn’t have access to his phone at the time. My first trimester was full of morning sickness and crying.

Sophia’s Ultrasound

Pregnancy makes you emotional and then throw in the fact that my husband was gone, yeah it was a blast. lol! I finally got to see my husband at his basic graduation. This is also where we found out his tech school was going to be 6 months long… and in Texas! After lots of going back and forth we decided I would stay in Tennessee with family and have Sophia there. In the end this worked out best for us. I got to continue care with my OBGYN who also delivered Parker 7 years prior. Other than the usual morning sickness and fatigue my pregnancy was wonderful! The hard part was doing this pretty much alone, again. My husband wasn’t there every night to talk to my stomach or feel the baby move and that was hard. I cried, A LOT.

My mom, sister, Parker, and myself at Sophia’s Baby Shower

So glad my family and friends put up with me those long months! lol So fast forward to December. Sophia’s birth month! My only goal was to keep her in until daddy was home! I know induction isn’t always the best choice for everyone, but for us it was. We were working on a TIGHT schedule. My husband got to come home for Christmas for a week.

So having my amazing doctor who scheduled my induction a month prior for 22 December we were so thankful. Being able to schedule the induction also included making sure my friend, who’s an RN on the labor and deliver floor, was able to work that day, and help deliver my sweet baby girl! Sophia successfully stayed put until the induction!

Dropping Parker off at my mom’s before we headed to the hospital to start the induction!

My husband made it safely home, and at midnight on 22 December we headed to the hospital! They started the medication right at midnight, and by that morning I was having contractions fairly close together and dilated to a 4. I got my epidural, and from there everything went so fast. I had my husband and my sister in the delivery room. It was the perfect delivery! I only pushed for a few minutes, and then she was in my arms! She weighted 7lbs & 13oz. I only had to stay at the hospital that night, the next day we were all ready to go home!

Can’t believe this was all 3 years ago! Time flies by so fast!! The only advice I have for new momma’s is to take ALL the pictures and videos! Because before you know it they’re talking and walking!

Makeup for the Tired Mama

Makeup for the Tired Mama

Happy Friday!

Today I wanted to share some of my favorites beauty products. Now being a mom of 2 and working full time my makeup routine is quick, fast, and easy.

I’ll start with bags, and no I’m not talking hand bags. Those awful bags we get under our eyes from losing sleep for the past 10 years or so! This product I actually received in one of my boxy charm boxes! I’m so glad I found it! You use it in the morning before applying make up to help decrease the puffiness under your eyes. It is a true lifesaver!

Next up, concealer! Definitely a must for anyone not getting their 8 hours of sleep at night! I have 2 that I use religiously.

First is by it the bye bye under eye. It takes a very tiny amount and lasts forever! & it’s also waterproof *praise hands*

Next is Tarte Shape Tape. It comes in a bottle with a wand for easy application. It works wonders for the dark circles too!

And last, but not least foundation!

Tarte Double Duty Shape Tape Hydrating Foundation is one of my go to’s. I use it with the tape shape concealer. I have extremely dry skin and living in the driest state doesn’t help. This foundation does it’s job and it doesn’t dry my face out!

Maybelline Fit Me Matte+ Poreless is the other foundation I use. This is definitely the more cost friendly foundation. It can dry my face out some, but I love the coverage. You can get it in drug stores or Ulta.

What are your favorite make up items? Let me know in the comments!

My top 5 Lush Products

Hey Y’all!

Today I wanted to share some of my Lush favs, that *gasp* aren’t bath bombs! I know Lush is known for their bath bombs, and as rightfully so because they are amazing! They have tons of other amazing products that I love! I know the first few times I visited a Lush store it was very overwhelming and lots of times super crowded. So if you’ve never been here are some of my must haves! And if it is your first time going to a store don’t be afraid to ask for help! The employees are so knowledgeable and helpful!! Let me know your favorite products in the comments!!

1.  Pumice Power

Pumice Power

This little guy is AMAZING! I use it in the shower on my feet to help get rid of dead skin and keep my feet soft! It’s only $4.95 and lasts forever!

2.Hottie | Massage Bar

This is a great mess free lotion alternate that smells so good. It’s great for sore muscles and super easy to use! Also a plus there’s no packaging so no waste!

3. Silky Underwear | Dusting Powders

So this stuff is amazing for your thighs in the summer! If you’re wearing a dress or shorts you can dust this on your thighs where they rub together and it helps with chaffing. Plus it smells amazing! It’s also good for sprinkling on your sheets!

4. Lip Scrubs

They have multiple flavors, but bubble gum is my favorite. Best part? Your lips taste like bubble gum after! This is a pretty self explanatory product. It’s so good to have though!

5. Face Masks

So the jelly masks are probably one of my favorites because the texture is so fun! They have so many to chose from though. If you go in store they do have more of a selection because some of their masks have to be refrigerated due to the products in them.

This post was in no way sponsored by Lush, I just love their products this much! lol

Cricut Crafts

Cricut Crafts

Hey Ya’ll!

Today I wanted to share one of my hobbies! I’ve owned my Cricut Explore Air for 2 years, and I love it! I’ve created tons of gifts, decorations, and personalized things. I don’t use my Cricut for selling items or a business. I use it strictly for fun and play.

Some of the reasons I don’t use it for profit are copyright laws. If you’re caught selling items that are copyright (i.e. Disney and NFL are the big 2) you can get in trouble. I work full time so I don’t really have the time to run a business as well. Everyone and their mother has a circuit or silhouette lol!

If you are planning on purchasing a Circut here are some tips!

Join a Facebook group- they’re super helpful and full of ideas

Practice, practice, practice!! Don’t expect to pull your Cricut out and begin making everything perfectly the first time

Watch YouTube videos! They are super helpful and explanatory. The world of vinyl cutting has acronyms and materials you need to familiarize yourself with!

Stock up on vinyl! My favorite is they have tons of designs and colors. Sign up for their emails! They are always sending out coupons

Check Hobby Lobby, Michaels, & Joanns for their specials every week! has amazing SVG files for FREE!! Please do not use them for profit and if you’re able they have an option to send them $5 for keeping the site up and full of great SVG files!!

Expect to spend more money! The Circuit is not cheap and after seeing all the projects you can make it starts to add up! Definitely look for sales!

Let me know if you have any questions in the comments! Now I’ll share some of the things I’ve made over the past 2 years!

I made this sign for my cousin’s wedding! ( that’s my handsome son and bald baby girl )

These are some onesies I made as a gift for someone who was adopting! She cherished these and even had pictures done in one of them! This is one of my favorites!

A gift for my cousin!

I found these for $3 at Target! So cute and they made great gifts! It is a chalkboard so you can change if needed!

Banner I made for my daughter’s first birthday! This was cardstock and cost less than $5!

A gift for a new baby coming home from the hospital and pictures!

A decal I made for my Yeti!

Here’s the Circuit I have! It’s on sale and comes with some vinyl!

Happy Crafting!

Tiny Drops Book Review

I recently finished Tiny Drops and thought I would share my thoughts with y’all! I absolutely loved this book! And a plus it’s on Kindle Unlimited so if you’re signed up for that you can read it for free. I struggle with book reviews because I don’t want to give too much information and spoil it for you, but I also want you to read it and love it too!!

This book was an eye opener for me on Type 1 diabetes. It tells the daily struggles and what people go through with this disease. This book had me in tears on multiple occasions. The author did an amazing job on this book!! She touches on things you don’t think of when you don’t have a disease- like pregnancy! I’m so glad I read this book and can’t wait to see what else this author writes! Seriously go check it out.

Let me know if you read it and what you think!!

Teen Mom- Real Life

Teen Mom- Real Life

Hello everyone!

I thought I’d share with how my “adult life” started. Some of you may already know this about me while most don’t. I found out I was pregnant with Parker at 17. He wasn’t planned and I definitely wasn’t ready. I was a senior in high school and pregnant. That wasn’t how I’d planned my senior year. Instead of planning a spring break trip I was planning a baby shower. I was 9 months pregnant when I walked across the stage and received my diploma.

Thankfully (after the shock wore off) my family was SO supportive. My mom even took off work the week Parker & I came home from the hospital. My two sisters were great in helping me care for Parker and watching him while I worked. My grandparents, my Aunts & Uncles, and all of my cousins were also there for us when needed. I wouldn’t have survived without them.

After I got pregnant I was given a pamphlet about teen pregnancy. The statics I found bothered me so I made a promise to myself that day that I would surpass every single one of them. I graduated high school, I didn’t have another child within two years, and I didn’t live on welfare. Although I didn’t graduate college I’m ok with that. I tried and it just wasn’t for me. I’ve worked so hard for us and will continue to do so. I’ve had to work two jobs, and we had to use food stamps at one point. But I’m so thankful for Parker and the life we have now! ¬†Even though it was so trying and difficult I wouldn’t change a thing. It had truly made me who I am today. I love my growing handsome boy!

I know MTV has “glorified” teen pregnancy with new cars, fancy clothes, and fun trips. That’s not real life for a teen mom so I just wanted to share my honest experience. You don’t get a paycheck for just being a teen mom like Parker thought when he saw the show! lol!

Unfortunately I don’t have many pictures of my pregnancy due to technology and all the weight I gained! Lol

Here’s a picture of Parker and I the day I had him!

Here’s my mom, my sisters, and I before I had Parker!

If you have any questions let me know! Also if you’re a teen mom I’d love to hear your story!
