Happy Easter!

Happy Easter Friends! 🐣🐰🌷

I know it has been a LONG time since my last blog post, and I do apologize for being M.I.A. I wanted to take some time today and give y’all a little life update on where I’ve been. So we packed up our entire house and moved our stuff to a storage unit in South Carolina. We’re currently on a waiting list for a house on base.

While we are waiting for a house the kids and I are staying with family in Virginia. Parker was able to enroll in the elementary school he was in before we left for Colorado so it’s been really good for him to see all of his old friends! While Sophia is really enjoying being around family and friends she is having a more difficult time. She’s not wanting to go to bed at night, and she’s not wanting to take her nap during the day. It breaks my heart because she’s too young to understand what is going on. She keeps asking to go back home to her bed. It’s getting easier on her, I think it’s just gonna take some more time.

So while we are here my husband is staying with his aunt in South Carolina who lives close to the base. So we really lucked out there! He’s getting used to the new area, and finding new places for us to go once we’re all together again.

It’s definitely a challenge living without my husband, but I think this was the best solution for our family. We did look into renting before we came to this conclusion, but the rental prices were just to high!

Hope you all have a great week!!

DIY Drop Cloth Curtains

DIY Drop Cloth Curtains

Hey Friends!

Today I’m going to share my curtains! I’ve had a few questions about them so I thought I would share what I used & how I hung them here!

First of all they’re super inexpensive! Each “panel” is around $10 and then the clips were $3-$5 a pack. The curtain rods were probably the most expensive.

So the drop cloth is located in the painting section at Walmart. They also have them at Lowe’s and Home Depot. I start by washing the drop cloth and then drying it. It gets rid of all the lines. After it came out of the dryer I hung them up so I didn’t need to steam them. From here it’s pretty simple. The hardest part was getting the panels to match up in size. You just fold the drop cloth over for your desired length/ look and then clip the drop cloth to the rings. & viola! You have easy Β and cheap curtains that look amazing!

If you have any questions please let me know!

Indefensible Book Review

Indefensible Book Review

Hello!

Today I’m sharing another book review. This one is called Indefensible The Missing Truth about Steven Avery, Teresa Halbach, and Making A Murderer. So if you’re like me, and probably half of the world you’ve seen Making A Murderer on Netflix. The first season came out in 2015 and the 2nd season was released in 2018. I’ve seen both seasons. I thought for sure that Steven Avery was innocent. UNTIL I finished this book! After reading this book I’m 99% sure he did kill Teresa Halbach. If you read the book yourself you’ll see the documentary creators used editing to their advantage and left out stuff that pretty much proves he did it. The author also goes into Steven’s life prior to this conviction. Taking that into consideration, and how the documentary displayed “their evidence” it’s pretty obvious they have the right man behind bars. This makes me truly sad for Teresa Halbach’s family. They went through the trials years ago, and thought it was over to have everything brought back up and explode in the media. My heart truly breaks for them. If you’ve watched the “documentary” I suggest you read this! Definitely an eye opener. It makes you realize just how someone can spin the truth with editing videos. If you have read the book let me know what you think in the comments!

The Spirit of Christmas

The Spirit of Christmas

Happy Holidays!

In the spirit of Christmas I’ve been thinking back on my past Christmases. The one that sticks out to me is the one where I was in middle school and our dad had officially left us.

Those of you who know me know I have 2 sisters. So my mom was left to raise 3 girls by herself. I’ll also add with no real child support. (That’s another story for another day) I was at the age where I had a decent understanding of money. I knew it would be a rough Christmas. It had already been a rough year.

One Sunday in December we get home after church and there were 3 packages by the door. No note. No from labels. No idea who had left them. We tore into the packages and inside was an Aeropostale hoodie for each of us. When you’re normally in second hand clothes something brand new with a tag still attached is exciting. But what really got us was a $50 bill for each of us!

I’ll never forget the joy and excitement I felt that day. I know presents and money can’t solve all issues and what not, but in that moment it was just a great feeling. Knowing we could all go to the store and get something we wanted. Lifting part of that burden off of my mom.

We still don’t know who left the packages. If you’re by some chance reading this I just want to say thank you! You made 3 little girls Christmas! At a time where we were feeling abandoned and let down this person or persons gave us hope and happiness!

I like to think back on that day to remember how someone went out of their way to bring us some Christmas cheer. They did something they didn’t have to do, and I’ll be forever grateful. I can’t wait for the day that a situation comes to me and I can do the same for someone else.

Hope you all have a Merry Christmas!! πŸŽ„β€οΈ

Sophia’s Birth Story

Sophia’s Birth Story

Happy Saturday!

Today my baby is 3! In honor of birthday I thought I would share her birth story.

So I found out I was pregnant with Sophia 2 weeks after my husband had left for basic training for the Air Force. I had to tell him by letter because he obviously didn’t have access to his phone at the time. My first trimester was full of morning sickness and crying.

Sophia’s Ultrasound

Pregnancy makes you emotional and then throw in the fact that my husband was gone, yeah it was a blast. lol! I finally got to see my husband at his basic graduation. This is also where we found out his tech school was going to be 6 months long… and in Texas! After lots of going back and forth we decided I would stay in Tennessee with family and have Sophia there. In the end this worked out best for us. I got to continue care with my OBGYN who also delivered Parker 7 years prior. Other than the usual morning sickness and fatigue my pregnancy was wonderful! The hard part was doing this pretty much alone, again. My husband wasn’t there every night to talk to my stomach or feel the baby move and that was hard. I cried, A LOT.

My mom, sister, Parker, and myself at Sophia’s Baby Shower

So glad my family and friends put up with me those long months! lol So fast forward to December. Sophia’s birth month! My only goal was to keep her in until daddy was home! I know induction isn’t always the best choice for everyone, but for us it was. We were working on a TIGHT schedule. My husband got to come home for Christmas for a week.

So having my amazing doctor who scheduled my induction a month prior for 22 December we were so thankful. Being able to schedule the induction also included making sure my friend, who’s an RN on the labor and deliver floor, was able to work that day, and help deliver my sweet baby girl! Sophia successfully stayed put until the induction!

Dropping Parker off at my mom’s before we headed to the hospital to start the induction!

My husband made it safely home, and at midnight on 22 December we headed to the hospital! They started the medication right at midnight, and by that morning I was having contractions fairly close together and dilated to a 4. I got my epidural, and from there everything went so fast. I had my husband and my sister in the delivery room. It was the perfect delivery! I only pushed for a few minutes, and then she was in my arms! She weighted 7lbs & 13oz. I only had to stay at the hospital that night, the next day we were all ready to go home!

Can’t believe this was all 3 years ago! Time flies by so fast!! The only advice I have for new momma’s is to take ALL the pictures and videos! Because before you know it they’re talking and walking!
